The Toyota 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 270-horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, and the power is sent to a part-time 4WD system and a full-time 4WD system in the higher trims. The 4Runner manages to offer a balanced performance output both on-road and off-road. The varying configurations help customers in choosing the perfect model, based on their requirements. If you're looking for an on-road oriented model, you can opt for the Limited trim. Alternatively, if you want to buy off-road performance models, you can choose among the TRD Pro trims and the TRD Off-Road.
Just like any other Toyota, the 4Runner offers a plethora of technological features like Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, Bluetooth connectivity, an eight-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi connect, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and SiriusXM subscription standard on all the trims. Upgraded features like the JBL® premium audio system with 15 speakers, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Destination Assist, Dynamic POI Search, and Dynamic Voice Recognition are offered on the higher trims. The 4Runner’s cabin is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of space for all the occupants. The base trim gets fabric-trimmed seats as standard, while the top-end Limited trim comes with perforated leather-trimmed, heated, and ventilated front seats.
As far as safety is concerned, the 4Runner has a wide range of safety features offered as standard on all trims. And some of them include Toyota Safety Senseâ„¢ P (TSS-P), Star Safety Systemâ„¢, Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), Rear Occupancy Alert, and Side-impact door beams.
