The 2021 4Runner is available in nine trims – SR5, Trail Special Edition, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Venture Special Edition, Limited, Nightshade Special Edition, and TRD Pro. 2021 Toyota 4Runner new additions

The 2021 model year version of the 4Runner comes with a host of additions to complement its already imposing character. To begin with, a new limited-production Trail Edition trim has been added to the lineup. The Trail Edition trim will be limited to 4,000 units. It will be clad with black exterior badging, 17-inch dark gray TRD wheels, black upholstery with tan stitching, and all-weather floor mats.

Elsewhere, the 4Runner also receives new standard LED headlights. The top-end TRD Pro model gets a new Lunar Rock exterior color offering, retuned dampers, and newly designed black TRD wheels wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler tires.

2021 Toyota 4Runner Specifications

The 2021 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) and sequential shift mode. While rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain comes standard on the base trims, a full-time four-wheel-drive is available as an option for the lower trims and standard on the higher trims such as the TRD Pro.

When it comes to its technological features, the 4Runner is equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen display as standard. Features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, advanced voice recognition, hands-free phone capability, four USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM radio, and Wi-Fi Connect come standard. Opt for the premium system and you can also access Dynamic Navigation that includes Dynamic POI Search and Dynamic Voice Recognition.
