Prius c vs. Prius v
Let’s keep it simple to start. The most noticeable difference is the body. The standard hatchback is still present on all models, but the Prius c (smallest in the lineup) shows off a “boxier” shape with less passenger volume. The Prius v, meanwhile more resembles the shape of a station wagon with its extended body length. The Prius v is basically the same as the standard Prius but with more cargo space. Now, other than the bodies, how else to these cars compare and contrast? See our table for more details.

Basically, the Prius c was designed for life in the city, hence the “c.” Its smaller body and engine make it ideal for those living in a downtown area or within major city limits. The Prius v, on the other hand, is probably better suited for drivers with kids or larger family. Its huge cargo area makes it ideal for road trips and traveling.

Of course, both cars showcase outstanding fuel economies. The major differences are the respective sizes and driver preferences. If you prefer to stay closer to home and a cozier car, the Prius c might be better for you. If you’re looking for more adventure and space, the Prius v can give you both. Neither car features a huge engine, but that is to be expected. The Prius c includes the smallest engine in the Prius lineup.
